Friday, January 9, 2026, was a good day for fans of Fort Wayne Football Club as the team announced Tiago Dias as their first-ever professional signing.

Tiago spent the past three summers in Fort Wayne anchoring the back line for their USL2 side en route to three division titles, and leading the way as captain for two of those seasons. Given that history, securing Dias for this inaugural season in USL League One feels more like a statement than a signing. Dias represents continuity, belief, and ambition—all wrapped into one familiar face.

A Vote of Confidence From Club and Player

Being named the first signing as the club steps into the professional ranks wasn’t lost on him.

“It’s amazing,” Dias said. “They trust me like I trust them. I’m very happy—not just being the first signing—but being part of the club again and helping the club move forward.”

With that level of trust and confidence in both the player and the club, Dias said he didn’t hesitate when the offer came.

After spending last season at Bryant University, Dias returns with another year of development and experience. He believes that growth will translate directly to the pitch in Fort Wayne.

“I learned a couple things at Bryant that I can bring to Fort Wayne and help the team,” he said. “I’m excited for that, and I hope we have a bright future.”
